TO CLIOPHIL.
ANSWERS TO THE VERSES WRITTEN UNDER THE PORTRAITS, &C.
What fine antithesis, what flow'ry phrase
Shines thro' each line, to paint frail beauty's blaze!
Ev'n contradictions meet to grace thy song,
To the same source do different streams belong.

TO THE VERSES WRITTEN IN A FAN, &C.
Oh! thought most exquisite! Oh! wit most rare!
How admirably 'like, do we find here,
The Courtezan and Poet both appear!
If her immodest air disgusts mankind.
His Dogggrel verse disgusts each tuneful mind.
TO THE EXTEMPORANEOUS LINES, &C.
If form'd to charm each heart, and 'chant each eye,
Why should your jewel in a casket lie?
Since 'tis not wrong, to wish the gem one's own,
Since born for all, she can't be meant for one.
